Our minds shape the quality of every moment of our lives. And our minds are not just our thoughts; they include our bodies, relationships, histories, cultures, and imaginations. They hold our past, our work and creativity, as well as our emotions and inner experience.
In therapy, we can learn to be in relationship with all of these parts of ourselves—listening and engaging with curiosity, care, and respect. Through this process, what has been fragmented or burdened can begin to integrate, nourishing our life and our connections to others.
I am trained in Somatic Experiencing, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and EMDR. In addition to formal clinical training, my work is influenced by contemplative practice. I often integrate mindfulness, compassion and self-compassion practices, as well as practical skills, when they support the therapeutic process. I have taught these practices in hospital settings, groups, and research contexts outside of my clinical work, and they have been an important part of my own life and development. I specialize in working with adults and young adults.
